Primark Bargain and Bin!!!

Today i called in primark and bought two products - one is fab and the other is quite frankly going in the bin!!

Bargain

When in primark I'm always tempted by the little make up things at the till even though i know deep down most of the products will be quite frankly shit! So today i picked up this little nail varnish set.  And I am so pleased with the results!

So here's some pics :)

Swatches

So though I do quite like the other colours the reason i bought this product was for the star gazer. It is a mock product of the Butter Dark Knight which is a polish I have been dying for but just isnt widely available in the UK.

Here is a picture from nailpolishanon.blogspot.com which is one of my fave nail blogs and below is the primark Star Gazer polish.

As you can see it's very very similar, I will post what the other colours look like on my nails as and when i wear them.

The best part about this nail varnish is that i've had it on for 2 days and there currently isn't a chip in it. So basically for 2 quid go out and buy these polishes. You cant even get a sarny for that nowadays!!

BIN

Second Primark product is probably the worst thing I have purchased this year.  I honestly dont have the words to describe how terrible it is and is perfect proof that all that glitters certainly isn't Gold.

Packaging

Basically all this product is is bits of Early Learning Centre Glitter stuck in vaseline it's really really really horrible. So much so I didn't even want to put it on my face, anyway here are some swatches so you can see the "quality" of the product.

So once again a very mixed back from primarni, what do you all think of their make up?

Little Beauty Bargain! :)

Today i popped in Boots and picked up a right little bargain! As I'm sure I've mentioned before I'm a little bit obsessed with orangey coloured lipstick for the autumn so am over the moon to find this little bad boy for just a quid.

Basically as the new autumn winter shades are coming in, they were selling off all the end of line products so I picked up a NO7 moisture drench lipstick. These usually retail at £9.00, I like these lipsticks generally and find them long wearing for a high street product. There also great for classic shades and everyday wear.

Onto the colour....

I'm actually doing this post from Starbucks with my iphone as the wireless has gone off at my boyfriend's house :( So apologies for the bad pictures, the swatch on my hand much better shows the colour which really is delightful and will go beautifully with Half Baked UD eye colour from the naked palette.

Anyway i'll keep it sweet and short as I can't bare to be one of those knobbers who sits blogging in Starbucks :)

Mini Haul

Popped into town today and picked up a few bits and bobs, supposed to be not shopping but I cannot resist a bargain :)

First up is a quick trip to my fave 99p shop :) Picked up a half price NYC lipstick for just 45p. The colour is sheer red and is perfect for autumn and for just 45p who can complain!!!

I also picked up two V05 products as they were surprisingly just 99p each! I haven't used this product before so will give you a head's up of what i think when i wash my hair.

As I've blogged before I'm a big fan of fast drying nail products so i also picked up Cutex 45 second quick and go which says it will dry your nails in just 45 seconds. I'm going to do a review of this product individually though.

I then popped into New Look where their colour pop lipsticks have been reduced to just £1.00 each so I also picked up to of them.

The first one is an orangey red and reminds me of the Kate Moss 12 Shade which i wore a lot on my recent trip to Budapest.

Next up is another colour pop lipstick in a pinky colour. This shade is right up my street and I always go for this sort of shade on night's out. I really like the packaging on the colour pop lipsticks and the quality also feels pretty good :)

YSL MASCARA VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS SHOCKING REVIEW

Hello Lovelies,

Rating 8/10

For my birthday my boyfriend got me a benefit set advised by his friend's girlfriend who works in Debehams, she kindly threw me a few extra samples the first of which is the fab YSL mascara.

The full size version of this product is available here for £23.00.

The sample i received contains 2ml making it perfect for nights out or  a weekend away. Anyway onto my review of the product....

Firstly here is my eye - mascara!! Not attractive! :S

And after...

First of all apologies for the shitty images i'm at my boyfriends and only have my iphone with me!!! But you can see how full my lashes look. In the photo when my eye is closed I'd go as far as to say they look like they could be fake!!

The mascara applies easily and evenly and looks fab after just 2 coats. I'm currently adoring the Cargo mascara but this has come in at a close second. However at £23 it doesn't come cheap!

So i didn't detract from the mascara i'm not wearing any eyeliner just a little bit of UD Sin from the Naked palette.

Overall a good luxury beauty buy :)

Mua Nail Constellation - Pisces

Mua Nail Constellation - Pisces Review
Rating 2/10

Right let me start off by saying i was so excited to try this product!!! At just £3.00 who could resist trying the high street's first attempt at nail caviar. However after using it I'm left feeling a bit meh about the product.

First problem is i lost the little instruction booket (totally my own fault) but had no idea how to put this on. I thought the nail caviar would work like a glitter polish but in fact it's loose particles.

To apply the product you paint your nail and then shake the substance over the top and hope it sticks.

This is where the first problem occurs :(

The beads do not come down the tube!!! I shook and shook and only got a light sparkling of product on my nails so had to take the entire lid of the product and pour a large amount of the product over my nail.

So here is what it looks like....

Overall i'm not massively impressed with the product - maybe it's me but I just couldnt make it look neat! I also just don't think it's going to stay on for very long despite covering it with clear nail varnish. I think maybe it's just time to fork out for the Ciate Nail caviar.

I'm a bit meh with the whole MUA range. being a bit of a beauty snob but also loving a bargain I keep buying bits and bats from it but find myself ending up with their high end alternative a few weeks later.

Where I Keep Things and Faves :)

Bit of a different style of post today, basically letting all of you know where i keep my stuff and some of my fave things in the world.

Nails

I'm a bit of a nail varnish hoarder! And keep my vast collection of my window ledge... I know this is going to sound tragic but to avoid sun damage I always put a scarf over them when it's sunny outside! In fact throughout the summer months i tend to pop them on my bookcase.

As you can see Model's Own tends to be my brand of choice :)

Here are 3 of my all time fave polishes.

The first is Nails Inc Paddington Street which is a fab shade for this time of year, you can buy this in this fab gift set for just £20 which includes 3 other colours. Its available from the beauty bay here.
Second up is a Barry M polish in Silvery Lilac, i like Barry M and always tend to pick a few up when they're on 3 for 2 which they always seem to be! Treat yourself with the weekly shop and pick it on from Tesco online here for just £2.99
Finally is a polish i picked up in the half price models own sale and though it's very summery i'm totally in love with it. The shade is Jade stone and is available here for a fiver :)

Make Up

Before last week my make up collection was a bit of a mess, until the make up artist style carry case entered my life that is!!!

Some of my fave make up products are as below.

Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow is currently my fave foundation, though it is heavy and I do tend to use a cheapo 17 one during the day for a lighter look. It's pretty good value at £24.50, i buy the shade Warm Me Toasted as i'm quite pale :) You can pick up this product here.

And here are the best of the rest...
Naked Palette - I am still reveling in this absolute bargain - i picked this up for just £21 in the Jet2 end of season sale!! I'm afraid that if you're not flying Jet2 in the next couple of weeks it's going to set you back £36 but is worth every penny. I have used this product every day since buying it and really don't think i'll ever need to buy another eye shadow set. (Just to clarify i will i just won't need to).

You can buy NAKED from Debenhems here.

Next up is my fave blusher which is one i actually only use in the evenings as it's way to heavy for the day. I buy the MAC cremeblush blend in Posey for £17.50 as you can see from the picture this product is running very very low but i have had it since January so and used it on most night's out so it's lasted pretty well. You can buy this here.

Sugarlicious is one of Benefits lip and cheek kits and it ideal for throwing into your handbag as it contains some of my fave benefit products in travel sized bottles and a mirror!!! The sugarbomb blusher is a perfect day time blusher when you want a naturalish look. You can buy this here for £24.50

Next up is my eyeliner of choice- I have hundreds of eyeliners, gel, liquid, pencil, you name it and i've probably tried it at some point but i keep going back to the Mac Powerpoint eye pencil in black obviously! There is a really nice metalically shimmer to it and it looks great when doing a smokey eye. You can buy this for £14.50 here.
I blogged about the recent Cargo makeup stand closing down in Boots and how i picked up a 30 quid mascara for just under 7, i'm obsessed with this mascara which is the lash activator triple action but have no idea where i'm going to get another one from, if anyone knows i will be eternally grateful :)

Finally is my current fave lipstick which is only a cheapy but I love it. It's one of the Kate Moss rimmel ones in shade 12 which is a fab orangey red shade :) You can buy this for just £5.49 here

I was also going to blog about my jewellery storage but realize I've blabbed on enough for today :)
What items are your faves? Any recommendations? xxx

Glossy Box October 2012

After reading a fair few posts about this month's glossy box i was slightly anxious to recieve mine as it seems quite a few people hadn't received a 5th item but i must say i'm rather happy with what i got.

Anatomics Don't Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It
Full Size £3.49
Sample Value £1.30ish
Pros - Smells nice, really apricoty, the product also works, my skin feels smooth after using it. Also a great sized sample.
Cons -Cheap beauty product and i always hope my Glossybox with give me something a bit more high end to try.

Olay Regenerist 3 Point Treatment Cream Fragrance Free
Full Size £30.00
Sample Value £4.20
Pros: My mum is in love with this product :) So i gave it to her so she can take the little tube on holiday. As i'm only 26 i don't need such a heavy duty moisturizer though for the sake of review i did put it on my skin and it felt lovely :)
Cons: Think this is the perfect example of why the GlossyBox could become a bit more personalized so the products could be more suited to the age/skin type of the user.
Skinetica Anti-Blemish
Full Size £6.99
Sample Value (Doesn't say product size but i imagine around 10ml so a 70p value)
Pros: Looks like a toner, takes 3 days to show affects so i will post an update.
Cons: Pretty cheap product again.
Yves Rocher France Moisturizing Lipstick
Full sized sample £14.50
Pros: So pleased with this sample, a full sized lipstick in a perfect autumn winter colour :) The quality is also lovely and the lipstick stayed on all day. Top marks glossy box :)
Cons: None!

DR Jart Premium Beauty Balm
Full Size £24
Sample Value £9
Pros: Great sized sample of a product I am a big big fan of. Used this today and had several people comment on how lovely my skin looked. This is definitely a product i would consider repurchasing as i am really pleased with the quality of it.
Cons: Once again i think this is a product aimed at a particular age - the guidance booklet says this is most suited to people under 30 so though this product is ideal for me wouldn't be great for older people.

Overall i'm chuffed to bits though :) xxx
